Episode Notes

In this episode of The Unstoppable Podcast, our very own Founder and CEO Matt Gould is here to talk all about free speech, misinformation, Elon Musk, and how it all comes together in the Web2 and Web3 worlds.

We talk about Elon Musk’s recent purchase of Twitter and what that means for media as a whole, the possibility of making Twitter’s algorithms open-source, and some of the challenges he might face.

Matt discusses some of the problems with platforms like Twitter having a monopoly over online spaces for discussion, the lack of trust in traditional news media, the rise of disinformation, and the resulting problems. We talk about the idea of raising the cost of distributing information online to reduce negative activity like bots.

We also talk about identity verification, the importance of open-source algorithms (and how they impact free speech and censorship), and some of the crypto-based solutions to the problems around identity and reputation online, including NFT domains.
